Meet Allyson

A question I am often asked is, “did you always know you wanted to be a therapist?”

There is a long and short answer to this. The short version is that I always knew I wanted to help people in some way. I had my own personal reasons that therapy became appealing to me, and I could not be more grateful to have found a practice and profession that is equal parts rewarding and challenging.

I began my journey as a mental health counselor when I graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in sociology. From there, I attended Mercy College in New York City and graduated with a Master of Science in mental health counseling in 2014. I was exposed to diverse populations while volunteering at an LGBTQ+ community center in lower Manhattan and interning at Project Renewal in Harlem. Upon my graduation, I returned to Florida and worked in the substance abuse field as a therapist from 2014-2021, which is when I began working as a private practice therapist. Since beginning private practice, I have honed in on what I am passionate about as a therapist. This has led me to focusing my work on helping couples and individuals who are ready to heal from their past and cultivate a life with a variety of fulfilling relationships.
